Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday called for coordinated efforts to write a splendid chapter in China’s modernization journey in the Xizang Autonomous Region, during a meeting with representatives from all ethnic groups and social sectors across the plateau region.
Mr. Xi, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), extended sincere greetings and warm wishes on behalf of the CPC Central Committee to the people of all ethnic groups in Xizang.
He led a central delegation that arrived earlier in the day in Lhasa, the region’s capital, to participate in activities marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the autonomous region.
