Beijing hosted the opening ceremony yesterday afternoon for a seminar dedicated to journalists and media professionals from francophone African countries. Organized by the Research and Training Institute of the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), the event brings together 35 participants from 9 francophone nations, running from September 17 to 30, 2025.
Discussions will cover a wide range of topics, including China’s media industry, constructive journalism for global development communication, the global media ecology in the age of media convergence, user behavior in online media environments, national context, shared values between China and the rest of the world, and the Belt and Road Initiative.
The program also includes enriching field visits (such as the Great Wall of Beijing, the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, a trip to Changchun city and Jilin Province, as well as inspections of Jilin Radio and Television and the media company JishiCo., Ltd). A training certificate will be awarded at the closing ceremony to the experienced media professionals from francophone African countries.
The Central African delegation stands out for its active engagement throughout the seminar, contributing to stronger ties between francophone media and Chinese stakeholders.
