Sino-African Training in Ningxia: 45 African Officials Mobilized Against Poverty

Forty-five African officials from countries participating in the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation and the African Union are taking part in a training program focused on poverty alleviation, held from October 19 to 26 in the Hui Autonomous Region of Ningxia, in northwestern China.

During this event, they will engage with experts, academics, entrepreneurs, and local frontline workers. According to the organizers, the program includes keynote lectures, field visits, and educational sessions covering topics such as poverty reduction and eradication, economic and trade cooperation, rural revitalization, and green development.

Ningxia is one of the main battlegrounds in China’s poverty alleviation efforts. Over the years, sustained efforts by national and regional governments have lifted all 1,100 impoverished villages out of poverty. In total, 803,000 people have escaped poverty since 2011.
