People’s Republic of China: 14th Five-Year Plan Achievements and Strategic Vision for the 15th

China has achieved high-quality development results during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

From October 20 to 23, the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held in Beijing to study and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan, aiming to design a high-level strategic blueprint for development over the next five years.

From an annual production of over 13 million new energy vehicles, to securing the “three pearls” in the crown of the shipbuilding industry, and the creation of 6,430 green factories nationwide... During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, technological innovation drove industrial innovation, accelerated the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development, and simultaneously increased both the “green content” and the “gold content” of China’s economy. China built the world’s largest renewable energy system and a new energy industrial chain, becoming one of the fastest countries in reducing energy intensity.

During the same period, the average annual real growth rate of per capita disposable income for rural residents in poverty-stricken counties reached 7.8%, surpassing the national average income growth rate for farmers. The urban-rural income ratio decreased from 2.56:1 in 2020 to 2.34:1 in 2024, and the average annual contribution rate of consumption to economic growth was around 60%. The “Edelman Trust Survey Report 2025” released in March this year shows that Chinese people's trust in their government continues to lead globally, and their overall optimism about the future ranks first in the world. International experts believe that China’s governance model is better positioned to ensure stability, prosperity, and freedom for its people.
