China launched an Algerian remote sensing satellite on Saturday from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwest of the country.
A Long March‑2C carrier rocket lifted off from the launch center at 12:01 p.m. (Beijing time) and successfully placed the satellite into its designated orbit.
The Algerian satellite will be mainly used for land planning as well as disaster prevention and mitigation.
This marks the 629th flight mission of the Long March rocket series.
