China–Burundi: A New Development Path with Global Impact Presented in Bujumbura

H.E. Ms. Zhu Kewei, the new Chinese Ambassador to Burundi, held a press conference on Wednesday, April 8, in Bujumbura to present the conclusions of the “Two Sessions” held in March in China, as well as the main orientations of the 15th Five‑Year Plan.

During the meeting, the Chinese diplomat explained that these sessions, organized in an international context marked by uncertainty, represented an important turning point for China’s socio‑economic modernization. She noted that the 15th Five‑Year Plan, adopted at the end of these sessions, defines the country’s strategic development priorities for the next five years.

Ms. Zhu Kewei also emphasized that this document is of great importance not only for China but also for its partners, including Burundi. She stated that China intends to strengthen international cooperation by sharing its development experience, not only by supporting its partners but also by helping them enhance their own development capacities.
