China Urges Eswatini and Certain Other Countries to Stop Supporting Taiwan Separatists

A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged on Saturday that Eswatini and certain other countries follow the trend of history and stop serving as supporters of separatists in China’s Taiwan region. The spokesperson made these remarks after Lai Ching‑te, leader of the Taiwan region, traveled to Eswatini on Saturday aboard the private jet of the King of Eswatini.

Just hours after the earthquake in Yilan, northeastern Taiwan, Lai Ching‑te abandoned the Taiwanese people still reeling from the disaster, sneaked aboard a foreign plane to “secretly” leave the island, wasted taxpayers’ money, and staged a ridiculous performance before the world—adding yet another episode to the scandalous separatist push for “Taiwan independence,” the spokesperson said.

The disgraceful act of Lai Ching‑te and his ilk once again proves that the One‑China principle has long been a fundamental norm of international relations and a widely shared international consensus. No matter what maneuvers the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities undertake to ally with external forces and bankroll these individuals, the cause is doomed to fail, and nothing will ever change the fact that Taiwan is part of China, the spokesperson emphasized.

No matter how separatist forces attempt to disguise their nature or change their appearance, nothing can save their reputation or help them escape condemnation by the international community, the spokesperson added.
