Xi Jinping met with the President of Belarus in Beijing on Monday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing on Monday.

Xi emphasized that China and Belarus should maintain strategic communication and promote the sustained development of their bilateral relations, which are already at a high level, in order to better serve the interests of the peoples of both countries.

China supports Belarus in safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as in pursuing a development path suited to its own national conditions, Xi stated. He expressed China’s willingness to continue providing assistance, within its capacity, for Belarus’s development.

The two countries should mobilize resources from various sectors to advance cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and strengthen coordination and collaboration within multilateral frameworks to form a stabilizing force in a turbulent world, Xi added.
