The 2026 Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum was held on November 3 in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian Province in southeastern China. The event brought together more than 200 foreign delegates from 100 countries, as well as international and regional organizations, alongside representatives from 182 media outlets and institutions.
Initially proposed by China, the Belt and Road Initiative has evolved into an international practice. It has also become a widely recognized global public good and the world's largest, most extensive and most ambitious platform for international economic cooperation.
Participants agreed that media organizations from different countries should work together to better promote the stories of the Silk Road. They emphasized the media's role in facilitating political dialogue and people-to-people exchanges, documenting and disseminating Silk Road stories, and fostering and maintaining a favorable public opinion environment.
Jointly organized by People's Daily and the People's Government of Fujian Province, this year's forum is themed "Seeking Convergence and Shared Aspirations Along the Belt and Road Initiative."
